Location: The village of Bozhentsi is situated on the road from Gabrovo to Veliko Tarnovo, just 28 km from Dryanovo and 15 km from Gabrovo. It is an architecture and ethnographic preserve, which represents the typical Bulgarian Revival architecture style.

The story: The village is pronounced for an architectural and historical reserve with 600 years back in time history. The old houses in Bozhentsi were built in the 18th and 19th century, but they still keep their authentic appearance and are valuable architectural and ethnographical monuments form the period of the Bulgarian Renaissance. The houses are with ground floors, bay windows, extended eaves and white facades. |

These Days: The village of Bozhentsi offers to the tourists a trip back in time, while enjoying their morning coffee on the verandah, contemplating the woodcarved columns of the houses or while taking long strolls among the stone bridges and small shops of the architectural reserve. And a lot more - nice authentic workshops, which display a variety of Bulgarian souveniers, wooden plates, rose oil, Bulgarian mummers and dolls. There are also nice traditional mehanas and places for accommodation, furnished in old Bulgarian style. |
