SMOLYAN LAKES
See our offers for rural accommodation in Smolyan Lakes
The Rhodope Mountain is well known for its beauty and charm it radiates. There is no other mountain in Bulgaria that grants the tourists with such an energy like Rhodopa Mounatain. It was inhabited for centuries and according to the Greek mythology here were born Orpheus and Euridica.

The mountain is composed of several mountain chains and it is the biggest mountain at the territory of the Balkan Peninsula. The highest peak, Big Perelik, is at 2191 meters above sea level.

The Smoljan Lakes are hidden in the forests, spread like crystal pieces, glistening under the sun. Each of the lakes has personal charisma and attracts the tourists, who find in the region real hospitality. The local people offer traditional food and welcome the guests with the sound of "kaba bag-pipe", which can be listened to only in this part of Bulgaria.
